Hi
Had the mirena fitted end of May.
Been on the evorel patch (75) for best part of 2 years.

All of August has been up and down. Irritable, tummy ache, teary etc. Oestrogen level at end of July was 300.

Caught covid last week, still feeling a bit rough.

What's going on? The period pain and nausea is annoying.

Getting my coil checked on Friday.

Thanks.

Have you had mirena before?

You may either be sensitive to it or could try a 100 patch. My Gp said 400-600 and no symptoms was what to aim for.

I did find going from 50 to 75 tough so am halving 25 patches to add to the 75 for a couple of months.

Covid can upset the apple cart a bit with oestrogen / oestrogen receptors.

Temporarily

Hi Warrior
This is my first Mirena. It's been in 12 weeks now.
I'm going to get it checked as I've been experiencing this period pain on and off all August. It could still be settling in?

I've got some 50 patches, so could try 2, or add a bit of gel to my 75.

In thinking absorption issues, as I was hitting the 460s for a long time.

I really want the Mirena to work, as utrogestan doesn't control the bleeding I experience on HRT very well.

Thanks again.

I haven't had any experience of the mirena but I'd suggest you do speak to someone about whether issues for that long are ok.

Is also only increase oestrogen in consultation with Gp, though a little extra while you're waiting won't hurt. If you've previously had higher levels it sounds like going up a patch may help - hard to tell though if it's the lower oestrogen or the mirena.

Yes, they recommend giving the mirena 6 months to settle. Suppose I could up the oestrogen for the next 3 months and If still feel bad, it's probably the mirena.
