Restarting HRT

Hi
ive been on and off HRT for maybe 18 months. I stopped again in May this year as I was trying to lose weight for my wedding & my boobs were heavy and ginormous. However, the hot flushes are killing me & affecting my relationship- I can’t bear my husband to cuddle me in bed -so I’m starting again.

I’ve had nothing more than 1 day periods or spotting in the last year so can i move to daily utrogestan? I know I should ask my GP but I won’t get an appointment for weeks.

Thanks

Do it. I've ended up going private to get testosterone too. X

Sorry no idea about the utrogeston

I went straight on to contious, i had a very light 3 day period within a year, if you could call it a period. Although i dont think many are fond of taking continious utrogestan because of the side effects. I also take mine vaginally so it doesnt coincide with my other medication.

I did go on continuous then in Nov had a health scare related to uterine growths, had a fast track op- all benign. Stopped again and won’t be going back on. I think I’m post menopausal now, even though I’m just 50. Yes I get warm, especially at night & my joints hurt a little, especially in the morning but otherwise I prefer being off HRT & my skin is starting to be really good too!

Im post meno too. Seriously thinking of stopping my hrt. Dont know if im any better or worse🤷🏻‍♀️ i suffer awful anxiety but can't tell if im better with or without it. Scared of just stopping

Newlywednearly50 · 07/03/2023 07:43

Um my anxiety is worse at the moment but I’m feeling crap about myself, out of shape etc so that makes me less confident.
All I can say is you can come off & if after a few months you feel worse then you can go back on. Just give it long enough go to feel completely free of supplemental hormones.
good luck x
