Early menopause

Long story short - I had cancer a couple of years ago - now recovered! It’s pushed me into a slightly early menopause! I’m almost 40

Literally CANT STOP sweating!!! Nothing is working!!

Please help - I’m mortified. I smell and feel sweaty all the time. I have a GP appointment tomorrow so will be discussing with him

Im a very normal weight, physically active - run 4/5 miles 3-4 times a week, decent normal diet, drink wine maybe once during the week then just Friday/Saturday night - I’m aware alcohol can increase my temperature and I already get flushing from it

What has worked for you? Anything I can just use over the counter or are there any prescription medications that have worked for you? Diet wise - anything that has worked to relieve symptoms?

Thanks in advance!

Are you allowed to take hrt?

Yes - I think so……. But I hadn’t really considered this. My cancer was well contained and wasn’t breast etc. I actually had thyroid cancer and had a hemithyroidectomy but still do have 2 remaining non cancerous lumps in the remaining half - with the plan to keep the ‘healthy’ part unless they really need to remove it

I honestly can’t cope though with the sweating. I had a meeting last week and literally sat through the whole thing bright red and sweating - it’s really impacting on my work

GP appointment tomorrow is to discuss next steps - as I had US on my womb etc a couple of weeks ago just to double check for any other issues - all clear apart from some minor womb polyps

@JinglingHellsBells - can you help?
Never speaking: the above user will always say she's not a medical professional but when it comes to menopause she knows her stuff.
I'm 9 years post breast cancer and can't take HRT. I'm nearly 45, it's been challenging.

Why not ask your GP tomorrow? She might have some suggestions for your be able to refer you to a menopause clinic.
