Started continual HRT 6 weeks ago - Feeling so tired and moods everywhere

I am hoping someone may be able to help or advise, or have had a similar experience?
I started Estradot 50 patches and 100mg utrogestan every night about 6 weeks ago.
I am 49 and had been having hot flushes, night sweats and very poor sleep; having had an ablation I have not had periods for 4-5 years.
Historically, I have reacted badly to the CCP and the mirena made me feel awful - so twitchy/on edge.
Since starting HRT I have stopped the flashes and night sweats etc….but…I am so so drowsy and dopy, and short tempered/snappy which I was not before starting it. It is beginning to be noticeable
It has been recommended to me by a menopause specialist that I take the utrogestan vaginally, which i did for a week but didn’t feel much different.
Can I ask how long it might take for me to feel different in changing how I take it?
Also, is it possible to still feel so dopey and snippy taking it vaginally? What else could I do, in your experience ? I am thinking the symptoms are preferable to feeling like this
Many thanks

You don't have to take Utrogestan every day. It's causing the symptoms.

The daily dose is an option for women post menopause.
(And even then it's not mandatory, it's more for convenience of no withdrawal bleeds.)

You can use it for 12 days a month. You may or may not get some bleeding 3-4 days after Day 12, (probably not if the ablation removes the lining) but wait and see.

The 12 day dose is 200mgs a day (at night) and you can use it orally or vaginally - whichever suits.

I was given the 100mg to keep me stable/steady as I have such a poor history with any form of hormone therapy- this was deemed the most stable routine for me.
I have absolutely no womb lining (when scanned) so no bleeds and also why I was out in the continual regime

I see, but what is 'deemed suitable' and what works in practice can be different.

Micronised progesterone is natural- it's won't be like any other hormones you have had before, as it's only used in low doses for HRT and high doses for fertility.

If it doesn't suit you, the other best progestin is in Femoston (tablets) so that's worth a try.
