Can anyone recommend a topical treatment for menopausal acne?

It's not a perfect solution, but Azelaic acid (£5.90 from The Ordinary) helps me. That, and some salicylic acid serum (again, cheap from the same brand, or from the many others that offer it. Plus a retinol cream every other night.

Hope this helps x

I got some antibiotic cream from the GP (after nicking some of my daughters teen acne cream which worked) and it cleared up after a couple of months. however, I was left with permanent roseacea which isn’t too bad as I can easily cover it up.

Not menopausal yet but have had every sort of acne there is (teenage acne, pregnancy acne, adult acne 😭).

The first thing that has ever really worked is a mix of tretinoin, azelaic acid and niacinamide. This seems to be the standard thing prescribed by online dermatologist companies like skin & me and Dermatica.

I've been using skin and me for a little while and am really impressed so far with the effect on my acne and I've had no side effects.

I've just signed up to try out dermatica (I like that it is a tad cheaper and I can't resist a good new starter referral discount 😂). They've prescribed the same mix of ingredients as my skin and me treatment but a slightly higher percentage of tretinoin. Going to try it out when my current skin & me tube runs out to see how it compares.

I have referral codes for both I'm happy to share 😊.

Skin & Me 2 months free (ex prescription fee of £3.50)

Dermatica (seems to be £2.90 then 25% off the next month using referral code)
