Managing mood swings/low mood Peri

The last six months everything seems to have kicked off for me Peri-menopause wise. I’m 43 and currently on combined pill. Im getting on top of dealing with the hot flushes/night sweats and the insomnia but the mood swings and mood crashes is crippling me.
id prefer to stay on the pill for contraception purposes and also because of troublesome bleeding in the past and my GP agrees, but any recommendations for when the low mood kicks in? I find it worse day 6-12 of my cycle and im teetering on the edge of it now. I can’t take years of this 😭
my m7m had her menopause by 45 so im hoping I follow suit and it ends by then quite frankly.

I have been out in fluoxetine for my terrible pms which has developed as part of peri. It has been a game changer for me. I was extremely reluctant to try it but it has almost completely taken my mood swings away and has increased my energy no end.
it’s not for everyone but it’s been life changing g for me

Thanks for your reply @ElspethBoomingHowsen
i keep thinking I’m going to buck up my ideas and find some miracle without medication but it ain’t going to happen I think. I may see what this week brings and if no better brave the GP for advice.

It took me a year to agree as I really didn’t want mood altering drugs. My first month made no difference but as soon as I started the second month my PMT and anger/mood swings vanished!

That gives me hope. Thank you
