Missed Utrogestan

SmiledWtherisingsun · 30/04/2022 05:02

I was so tired last night I fell asleep without popping my Utrogestan in.

I don't want to take it now as I'm worried about taking it in daytime.
I've done one week.

Can i just skip a night & carry on tonight for another week?

Or should i just stop & have a period now?

Advice from anyone with any medical knowledge on this would be very helpful 🙏

I wouldn't worry at all about missing one dose. Just carry on tonight. I see a private menopause specialist and she said not to worry if you happen to miss the odd dose. If you've just started an HRT protocol, it can take a few months anyway for your body to settle into it.

Obviously don't make a habit of it (I didn't want my reply to come off as trivial) but don't worry over 1 missed dose.

Thanks that's what I decided 👍

Hi,

I have just been prescribed Lenzetto spray and utrogestan. I regularly work night shifts. Should I try to continue taking the urtogestan at night when I’m working or change it to the mornings when I go to bed following a night shift or will this play havoc with my cycle? I work 3 nights a week.

That's a good question- orally it can make some feel quite tired I believe so tend to take at night. Also when taking with food it increases absorption.

You could try taking it vaginally which shouldn't cause any side effects and works just as well (my Gp said better for bleeding). Same dose and regime.

So in that way you'd take at the same time every day.

I'd start a new thread with this as the title though and see if anyone who does nights can answer
