Constant bleeding on HRT

I started HRT in September after months of anxiety and panic attacks. I do feel much better from that point of view.
I haven’t had periods for years because of the contraceptive pill I’m on, so no idea if they were stopping. I am 46.
Since being on HRT I am bleeding constantly - like 25 days out of 30. I’m fed up with it to be honest and haven’t seen my Doctor since September. I’ve seen the nurse a couple of times, but she didn’t really know about it.
I’m tempted to stop taking it. I’m hoping that now Covid and work has settled down that the anxiety will too? I was drinking too much last year too and I don’t think that helped either.
I know I really need to talk it through with the Dr but it’s so hard to get an appointment. They generally give you a phone appointment “sometime after two” which if difficult because my work diary is always full so I’m not always free and surrounded by people.

Can you say what type you are on and the dose? There are so many different types of HRT.

Tablets? patch? gel? dose? Continuous or sequential?

One type is for women who still have natural periods (probably uou at 46) and the other is for women over 54 or who have not had a period for a year.

If you are on the latter type, it's normal to have bleeding for 6 months (spotting) while it settles down BUT if you have been given that type incorrectly, you can bleed a lot - it's because your own hormones are overriding the HRT.

I take two sprays of Lenzetto estradiol spray and 100mg of utrogestan every day

Using Utrogestan daily is for women who are post menopause.

It's usual to start women your age on a sequential regime of to mimic a normal cycle.

I assume your GP thought you might be post meno but as there is no proof (due to using the Pill) they ought to have started you on a cyclic regime.

The likely reason is that 100mgs Utrogestan is not enough to control your own estrogen PLUS the Lenzetto and that means you will bleed.

It is probably better if you swap to a sequi regime - estrogen daily and 200mgs Utrogestan for 12 days per month (so it's like a normal fertile cycle.)

That way you can get into a pattern of predictable withdrawal bleeds once a month.

Your GP really ought to have discussed all of this with you.
At the very least they should have said it could happen and warned you that even with women post meno, odd bleeding is normal for 6 months with combined/continuous (but it's usually light spotting not a full-on bleed.)
