So - wee leak (literally) when I jump up and down (I have a circuit training session twice a week so…).

This is new and very unwelcome!

Is there anything I can do to stop it?
Any pads (oh dear god) I can use?

And no, I can’t tell the instructor to stop getting me to leap around Blush

Period pants?

KittenKong · 28/02/2022 15:17

I’ve tried that but it just feels… a bit dangerous! Terrified of having a damp patch!

I'm sure I saw Tena advertising pants for just this sort of thing.

Are you doing pelvic floor exercises?

ThisTownAintBigEnoughForBoth · 28/02/2022 15:43

Doing exercises that strain your pelvic floor and cause incontinence will be doing damage to your pelvic floor. You say you can't speak to your instructor about this, but the problem will get worse if you don't take action and avoid those exercises which cause the leaking. Any good fitness Instructor will be able to adapt a routine to a client's needs.

I find wearing a tampon helps, I think it helps to prop up the bladder wall or something like that. Seems reasonably common amongst runners of a certain age.

Tena pads are OK, but I much prefer Always ( for sensitive bladders) .
They are much thiner and more absorbant

But unfortunately are scented Angry

Topical (vaginally only) estrogen?

Fuckitsstillraining · 06/03/2022 23:51

Are you on HRT? I was having the same issues as you plus having to get up during the night so my specialist prescribed Vagifam (localised hormone) which is a tiny tablet inserted into the vagina daily, I've had a huge improvement in bladder control and no more leaks. So annoyed I didn't see a specialist years ago, my gp is useless and believes menopause is just something women go through and should deal with it.
