I do understand @Ginflinger honestly I do. Have suffered with horrendous, debilitating pms my whole life (pmdd)
It's awful to feel an out of control, emotional mess, especially if you are usually pretty sane and upbeat.
I was terrified to start the progesterone, didn't think in a million years it would work vaginally without the usual side effects. Was actually prepared to take my chances with oestrogen only, and blow the increased risks.
But so far, so good! My doctor (the private one) advised this and said it provides the protective effects on the womb lining while hopefully avoiding the unwanted side effects of progesterone for women with an intolerance.
I'm surprised as anyone it's actually worked!
I will defo update when we have our next consultation mid March. Hoping it will be our last one as he will the write a letter to my nhs doc, and hopefully that will allow me to daery on with a prescription through them rather than privately.
Despite being far from flush financially, both my husband and I will happily pay for a regular private prescription if needed though, it's been life changing for our family.
All the best to you, getting my hormones sorted has given me my life back and I hope you can find something that works for you too.
