How do you know if your oestrogen patch is too strong

I’m 47 and I’ve been on estradot 50 and Utrogestan for approximately 5 months - still having regular periods. It’s been helping my menopause symptoms until last month when the irrational anxiety, night waking and hot flashes returned with a vengeance and I also bled for a couple of days in the middle of my cycle last month and this month. I’m not sure if this means my patch is too strong or too weak. I really want to get this sorted as I feel pretty low again.

i had estrodol (?);50 & knew it was too strong because my boobs ballooned up & were really sore. i now have the 25 patch & those symptoms have disappeared. i'm really happy on it

I was on the 75 patch with nightly utrogestan for months. I’m post menopausal. I was plagued with bleeding and PMT half the time. The utrogestan wasn’t keeping my endometrial lining in check at all.

I’m now on 1mg if femeston conti and an hoping things settle. If I bleed after 6 months, I will go lower again.

What you could do, is get a blood test to check if you are absorbing? If your level is low, you may need to increase your oestrogen?

I started on 50 and, like you, symptoms started to return. Went up to 75 and feel much better. I started by cutting a 50 patch in half and using 1.5 patches. I felt the difference almost immediately so I contacted the GP to request 75 patches.
