Anxiety when increase gel dose

I wondered if anyone else has suffered anxiety when they have increased their gel dose. I was originally only on 1 squirt of gel and 1 tablet of utrogestan day 14 to 28. Due to lots of symptoms coming back my GP suggested I up my gel but as a result it’s made me so anxious. I’ve tried to stick it out but after a month I feel so low and panicky. Is this a ‘thing’ ?!?!

I haven't had what you describe, but is there a reason why you are only using half the amount of Utrogestan? (the dose on a cycle is 200mgs - 2 capsules a day.)

Also, bear in mind it may not be the increase in gel causing anxiety. If you have had a lot of other symptoms, maybe the anxiety is one of them and you need to stick with the higher dose for 3 months to see the full benefits.

Thank you, no anxiety before the increase so assumed it was down to that. My GP prescribed the utrogestan that way, I challenged it when I read the instruction leaflet and was told it was best to start off like this. My periods have now gone from every 30 ish days to 45 days, wonder if that is why?! Gosh it’s all so confusing.

Your GP is incorrect. The dose is on the leaflet in the box. You start with the full dose.

You are not supposed to reduce it Confused

Taking it as directed, you should be having a withdrawal bleed approx 3 days after the last tablet. Every month, usually.

You are possibly not getting one as the dose is incorrect.

Yes, oestrogen has caused me great anxiety and every attempts at get has made it worse.

I tried just about everything, saw private consultant etc....and after 5 years, finally decided to give antidepressants a go.

I wished I'd tried them from the start. It's totally sorted out my anxiety and most of the symptoms associated with it.
