(Which now has me singing that title to Owen Paul's 'favourite waste of time' 🙈)

I know everyone is different but I'd like to know what has worked best for you, what you've tried and why you're using what you are now using?

I'm 40, two and a half months into using Everol Sequi 50. I'm still having some symptoms so I'm going to ask them to increase the oestrogen to the 75 but I'm struggling with the conti patches in the second week. For the first few days I'm falling asleep exhausted and really nauseous. I don't want the coil as my last one got embedded but maybe it's another option? I don't need birth control.
I've seen the gel but what do people tend to use for the progesterone?
Has anyone managed to get testosterone from their gp?
I've been listening to the dr Louise newson podcasts but I've loads to get through!
I'm debating going to her but it will mean some saving first.

I used Elleste solo pills on a low dose. Maybe six or seven years, not too sure quite how long with no issues. Mainly for insomnia, moods, hot flushes, admittedly I was never at breaking point. Been cutting them back for the last 6 months and remembering how horrible hot flushes are but I don't want to be taking pills and excreting hormones forever so going to give them up in the next couple of months.

Mirena for the progesterone and continuous transdermal oestrogen.

I prefered the very small Estradot patches, as they stuck the best and I did not react to the adhesive. I have ridiculously sensitive skin and eventually reacted to every patch (other than Estradot) after months of use - generally in the summer.

In recent years there has been a shortage of HRT, and I have ended up switching to Oestrogel. It's fiddlier than patches because it has to be applied every day, rather than twice a week, and then I have to stand around semi-starkers while it dries, so I have to factor the time into my routine. OTOH, no grubby rectangles where the glue around the edge of the patch has picked up clothing fluff.

I would love to have HRT as an implant. Why isn't HRT available as an implant, just the way contraception is?

Side-effects: literally none. HRT has been a godsend. I thank God for science!
