Hi, I'm after some advice please.
I'm 40, diagnosed in November as being peri-menopausal and my doctor put me on everol sequi (50).
Pretty much straight away I felt better with much less intensity of symptoms but then when I came to use the conti patch I felt sick and exhausted for a few days.
Then when I went back to the oestrogen patches my symptoms seem to come back. Not as bad as originally but back to hot sweats etc and raging heartburn.
So I thought I'd just ask to increase my dose next time I speak to the gp.
I'm now in my second month again with my first conti patch (put on yesterday) and I woke up feeling awful. I've no energy, I feel really sick and just out of sorts.
I know it takes time to get the balance right.
I did want the patches but they don't stick well to me at all (I've followed some advice from people on here about the patch) I end up with plasters over them as they lift. I put this one on yesterday and half way through the night it had lifted.
I don't want the coil. I've had two and the second one embedded and the removal wasn't fun. Confused
So I'm hoping you knowledgable ladies can help me?
Thank you Smile

I'm a newbie at all this, but oestrogen gel is best, surely?

Some people recommend taking Utrogestan tablets as the progesterone element instead of in a combi patch as it's natural rather than synthetic and is supposed to cause fewer issues. Hopefully someone with more experience will be along soon.

As for the patches, if they're not sticking properly, they're not working properly (apparently). Have you tried warming them in your hands before you stick them on? Also put them on clean, dry skin after a shower. And try sticking them on different places.

Hope you get it sorted!

I know it may seem old-fashioned but I am on tablets [Femoston].
Tablets do have the benefit of being easy, though I know not deemed suitable for everyone...
