Period pants tmi sorry

I'm currently in perimenopause having the most awful unpredictable and heavy periods.

I'm so embarrassed that I have been caught out at work several times and it's not a place where its easy or possible to have toilet breaks without everyone both men and women knowing that you need to change your sanitary wear!

I'm a carer in a nursing home and we have male and female carers and no separate changing room! Which is another story!

Which would be the best period pants I could buy? Have never owned them and need something really good, I don't know what I'm looking for! Thank you!

I love Modibodi. The heavy shorts in particular. Super comfy too Flowers

Shouldbedoing · 12/01/2022 23:09

Modibodi I believe do one. But see your GP. There are options like Mefanemic acid or Mirena

creaturcomforts · 12/01/2022 23:11

Thanks littlewins I will have a look

Agree with modibodi. They feel like cosy PJs on my arse but also smooth and subtle under clothing. Win win! Plus so far they seem to have withstood both heavy flow and sudden gushes.

RoseValleyRambles · 12/01/2022 23:14

Wuka (sp?) do some super heavy flow ones if that's an issue

Yodabrussel · 12/01/2022 23:21

I have the Wuka super heavy flow ones and can confirm they are great at dealing with my peri menopausal floods, albeit I double up with my mooncup on the worst day

creaturcomforts · 12/01/2022 23:23

Thanks all have some great suggestions, I had a brief look but since they are expensive didn't want to buy unless any good. Will try them

Sounds like the wuka ones will be better as I have struggled since peri menopause, I'm 46 and has been the same last 2 years...

Wuka are good. I've heard Primark do cheaper ones but I haven't tried them so can't vouch for them.
The mirena coil has sorted out my flooding.

Snooks1971 · 13/01/2022 18:54

Second that Mirena sorts out the flooding.

DD has heavy periods and tried Modibodi but has since preferred Aussie brand Love Luna - stocked by Tu at Sainsburys.

goldfluffyclouds · 13/01/2022 19:00

I have 2 budget styles - the Luna ones from Sainsbury's and Primark ones. I'd say the Sainsbury ones are comfier so for that reason prefer them but both do the job.
I have had flooding episodes also in perimenopause so for that reason I don't rely on them and when I can feel a flood has happened I like to go and change into a fresh pair, but they give me time to sort things out so I can nip to the loo at my convenience rather than an embarrassing immediate dash to the loo...

MamaBearThius · 13/01/2022 19:14

I have m&s ones. Super high waisted, I think I got 4 pairs for £28? Best things I ever bought. I shall miss them when I get my hysterectomy soon

pinkfondu · 24/01/2022 07:25

I e just bought some in primark to try as couldn't justify the price of others think it was £13 for 3.

checkedcurtain · 24/01/2022 07:33

Wuka work well but modibodi are so comfy and also do the job. I have a mixture of heavy and lighter flow ones and use them everyday

Glenthebattleostrich · 24/01/2022 07:35

I have wuka and cheeky pants. Both excellent for holding flooding
