Aches - did meat make them worse?

Wasn't quite sure where to put this but it feels like it's been part of peri for me.

I'm nearly 45, now on hrt and aches are better but it's only been a month and a starter dose.

One of the hardest thing I've found recently is that eating meat (animal, fish seems better or ok) really affects my joints and I ache hugely the next day. Bizarrely sausages aren't as bad as a steak. Confused

The general aches come and go anyway, very linked to my cycle which is roughly regular. I was told I had hypermobility a few years ago by a rheumatologist and so hypermobility syndrome, but I now think it's been exacerbated by hormones. Especially as I was so much better during and just after my second pregnancy. Extreme aches and fatigue at various points of my cycle led to hrt. (Thank god for it!)

Meat can also cause stomach issues which started a few years ago. I can't eat dark chicken meat at all or mince for that reason. But was fine during and just after pregnancy. I tried my first steak on Friday; it wasn't as bad as it had been but there was still some background issues.

Has anyone else found meat disagreed with them as a symptom of perimenopause? Did it get better?

It's not an issue to go pescatarian. I'd only been having it once a week anyway and several vegetarian/ vegan meals in the mix. Just wondered if it was peri or maybe something else (I know it's linked to arthritis.)

We're just giving this thread a bump for you, OP, in case anyone's around to share their experiences.
