Patch has lifted after a few hours

My evorel sequi patch has lifted. I know I have to replace it but what happens now? I'll email the doctor in the morning but I assume I can't miss one out for obvious reasons.

Where do you have it?
Have you got any body lotion on?
Did you put it on when skin was warm after a shower?

The warm skin thing after a shower is probably it. I made sure it was completely dry but could have been too warm. 🙈

Just put another one on and take it off again at the normal time?

Malibuismysecrethome · 01/12/2021 18:23

Make sure they are warmed up before you apply them, once you have put it on hold your hand on it for a couple of minutes. When I first used them they were pinging off all over the place until I read that they should be warmed when you apply them.

ramonaquimby · 01/12/2021 18:31

You really don’t have to contact the GP. Likewise if you’re a day early/late it all balances out.
Take this one off and stick a new one on

Redcrayons · 01/12/2021 18:32

Has it come off completely or just lifted At the sides? D be tempted to fasten it down with some surgical tape.

But I'm one missing out of the box now? So I won't have the full two weeks of oestrogen only patches?

Thank you. I didn't know that but I'll keep that in mind for next time. I thought they'd be the same stickiness as an old fashioned plaster and not budge for anything!

Smile It really works and hold your hand on it for a minute as well. I couldn’t keep them on at all before I found this out. Now they don’t come off in bath or shower either.

Thank you. I love a good bath and wasn't looking forward to enforced showers forever 😂

Is your prescription only for 2 weeks? Hadn’t thought of that. Mine was for 3 monthshopr the next one sticks and stays better for you

No it's three months but you wear four patches over two weeks that are just oestrogen then four patches over two weeks that are oestrogen and something else 😬I can't remember what!

This one isn't the best either but I'll try warming it when I replace it on Saturday. Think I'll have to get something to keep it in place in the mean time. I was expecting them to be like gorilla glue 😂

This is what concerned me when I was offered the option so I went for the gel instead, Not really sure which is better.

THANK you for this thread. I was wondering what I was doing well -- first try of oestrogen patches, and they were lifting a lot, presumably because I didn't warm them and put them on after a shower.

I don't feel any different, I have to say, a fortnight in. I'm on the lowest dose to start with, so I wonder whether I should be on something more? How did any of the rest of you know you were on the right dosage?

Good question and I'll be interested to know that myself. X

I was told to give it three months to feel the full effects.

JinglingHellsBells · 02/12/2021 12:36

@CassieJumped Kindly, you are over thinking this all a bit.

If you 'waste' one patch it's not a disaster. presumably you will order your next 3 months before you have used the very last patch, so there shouldn't be a day when you are without one.And missing out on a very small dose of estrogen for Day 1 is not going to make any difference at all.

Please don't call or contact your GP over something like this. Appts are like gold dust. Some women I've read about find the patch sticks with help from a hairdryer.

Really? I was hoping I was going to start to feel rejuvenated, and less exhausted, within a few weeks! Grr.
Noducksgiven · 02/12/2021 13:44

Just take one out of your spare pack and ask for more before you run out. I've had to do this many times. Mine slid off all summer as it was so hot and my symptoms came back!
They usually work pretty quickly though. My symptoms disappeared with a week of starting hrt.

TheDogsMother · 02/12/2021 14:14

@Birdsnesting It's been three months for me now. The hot flushes have stopped and I'm sleeping through the night. It's wonderful.

Malibuismysecrethome · 02/12/2021 16:44

If you think they are not working they come in different strengths so maybe you need a stronger dose.
