I thought this was interesting and might be relevant to anyone on here having a tough time at work. www.hrreview.co.uk/hr-news/menopausal-symptoms-can-amount-to-disability-employment-tribunal-rules/138547?fbclid=IwAR2M3YmZqnWiJtUBJN78ni8bKBnXt4p58JNwyNVamuDU8eC4X5xbA7Oyyc8

It is indeed interesting.
My job not high powered as such but physical and very intense.
I have been suffering but likely labelled as ditsy and emotional.
Taking hrt now and hope for improvement.
Have made my line manager aware but... think lack of understanding.

WhereAreWeNow · 16/11/2021 06:53

Sorry to hear that @DinkyDaisy

Cried at work today after ticking off. I am hormonal and had 'probably' emailed an unwise email stating an opinion too strongly!
So tired...

DinkyDaisy · 17/11/2021 16:47

And, embarrassed...

WhereAreWeNow · 17/11/2021 19:06

That's shit @DinkyDaisy. Can you talk to your manager about your symptoms and how you're feeling?

Tried. She backed off a bit...
However, need to address it again as she probably just thinks hormonal mess now.
Her time will come!

It certainly impacts your working life.

Menopause affected my memory - whereas I used to just remember everything, I now have to write things down or put them in my calendar. When I was in the office, I was always far too hot - sometimes actually dripping with sweat - and having to make shame-faced trips to the loo to wash my armpits and put anti-perspirants on. Not allowed desk fans for 'safety' reasons. I WFH at the moment, thank goodness.

My menopause followed a hysterectomy so at least I didn't have to cope with erratic menopausal periods. My "normal" periods were bad enough, when I had them - the awful feeling of flooding when you're stuck in a meeting, the dread of standing up in case you have leaked onto your chair. It must be awful if you can't even predict when you're going to be menstruating, as in menopause.

My memory as well AblemarchTfruitbat
Also, not knowing what is hormones or just 'me' frightening.
I am very upset about today. I did make a mistake with my email. Wrong tone. Sent late at night. All destined for disaster!
It was clear she wanted to put me in my place and she did. Lots of power games with the way she asked me to her office, body language, school teacher tone, etc.

I am sorry to be unsisterly, but I hope karma bites her in the arse!
