Constant watering eyes, is this due to menopause?

The last few months my eyes won't stop watering. I'm 56 and 5 years past menopause. I read on here that this can be caused by menopause. Has anyone else experienced this, and have you found any cures for it?

Yes I've had this since the menopause- worse outdoors, hardly bothers me indoors. Not found anything that makes it better though.

Maybe just a getting older thing? I have it at 55 but my Dad and my husband do too. I bought some nice boxed vintage linen hankies from ebay to make it slightly less undignified.

My eyes along with hair, skin and vagina are all more dry after the menopause.

I mentioned my watering eyes to my optician, he told me to blink more to keep them lubricated.

Dry eye?

Definitely mention it to an optician.

Dry eye (I know, it feels like the opposite). It happens when the oil ducts inside your lashes become blocked, then the normal oily film doesn't form over your eyeball and you produce tears instead for lubrication.

What helps is getting a heated eye patch (can buy them from opticians or online), putting it over your closed eyes for a few minutes to melt the oil blockage, massage your eyelids along the rims and then clean with water or eye wipes. Do it for a few nights in a row and you should see an improvement.

As described on this link under how to keep your eyes clean.
