Mansplaining

I had my first big hot flash last night. I ended up laughing so hard I was crying because my DH kept trying to make suggestions on how I could deal with it and they were just not things that would work for me.

Everything from second guessing my selection of pajamas to thinking I was crazy for not trying a vaginal ice insertion to cool down.

I swear he isn’t normally like this. I know my mood wasn’t great, but he was just being so ridiculous that I know it wasn’t me.

I’m just wondering if other male partners have strange reactions when you start menopause?

Mine looked like a rabbit in the headlights when I mentioned the M word in connection with my night sweats and mood swings and said he would gladly pay for me to consult a private GP.

Yours is mighty brave to suggest a vaginal ice insertion. If mine had ever suggested that I think he would have found it inserted into him.

Vaginal ice insertion? Is that a thing now?

EdmontinaTiresofNameFlipping · 24/10/2021 13:19

When did ‘flush’ become ‘flash’?

🤔

DriftingBlue · 24/10/2021 19:15

It’s always been Flash where I live.

Aww I think it’s nice that he was trying to help you! I don’t think it counts as mansplaining if you don’t know what to do either yet and you’re just discovering this together. I’d be happy that you have a man who is a problem solver and who you can also laugh with.

Flash in the US.
Flush in the UK.

Vaginal ice not nowhere nohow.
