Started on 2 x Utrogestan this week & feeling filled with anxiety at night to the extent that I was in tears last night.

I'm a bit torn now as the oestrogen has been really helping up to this point.

Will it pass? Anyone else had this?

What about having sex then? Presumably that has to happen first before shoving them up there?Would it be absorbed by one's partners when DTD?

You need to make sure the two events are not together.

It's not so much the man would absorb it, more that it won't do you any good as it won't be absorbed. The capsule does take a while to dissolve and you will see some of the contents come out- sticky white goo.

You don't have to use them at night. The only reason for using it orally at night is because they can cause dizziness and sleepiness.

You can insert them at any time of day but depending on your pelvic tone, they may slip out before they have dissolved. Only way to find out is to try it.

It does make sense to do it at night so it has more time to dissolve.

Having sex depends on when. Morning sex is fine, in the evening you can put it in after if it is planned, but if spontaneous and you’ve already inserted it, it’s not really a problem. At least in my case it doesn’t fall out, there’s no residue on the sheets. I don’t get up right after so I assume it’s still there dissolving. I did worry about DP…erm… ingesting some, but my gynae says if a one off or infrequent it doesn’t pose a risk.

Thanks @JinglingHellsBells I'll keep taking it orally for now.

Hello I've been on 2x Utrogestan orally for 14 days per cycle and 150 Evorel patches since April and at first I was fine with the Utrogestan and overall I felt like a new woman on HRT. Then after 2-3 months I really started to struggle on Utrogestan and wasn't sure I could continue, then had a good month when it didn't give me the rage or anxiety, but I've just had another bad month (that basically ruined my holiday which was a bit rubbish 😩). I guess the next step is to try it vaginally, but I do like the sedative effect! Perhaps give it a few more months or try vaginally? I must admit I didn't realise it was the same tablet - reminds me of 'fanjo bullets' I used to take during fertility treatment 🤣

Ive seen a film of a Dr from the Newson clinic saying you only need one Utrogestan tablet (100mgs) if taking vaginally. Because it's being delivered nearer to where it needs to be in the body. Anyone else heard this?
