Testosterone?

I've been put on oestrogen & progesterone by GP.
Can you only get testosterone by going privately?

I am looking into this myself. It would appear that in theory a GP could prescribe it off-label on the NHS if you said the right magic words (probably that one's low libido and painful vagina were making one's husband miserable) but in practice I suspect that going private might be inevitable.

Menopause clinics do exist but in my area it's GP referral only. My GP is crap not really up on this sort of thing unfortunately.

I think that NHS GPs who have a menopause specialism might be willing to prescribe it (or a consultant obviously). The other option is to go privately and then private doctor writes to NHS GP who prescribes same on NHS.

Androfeme (the Australian-made Testosterone which is specifically produced for women) is not available on the NHS though, only the ones that are produced for men are. The only difference is that the latter formulation is harder to dose correctly I believe.

Androfeme is £80 a tube I believe and I think that lasts about 3 months,

This is a ridiculous situation.
So many questions...
I wonder why it's not prescribed here?
Why is Oz so ahead of the game?
Is it safe taking a product designed for men?
Why aren't the drugs companies pushing to make their women's product more readily available?
HmmHmmHmm
