Hi all, I'm 51, almost 52, and when I was 28 I had chemotherapy which, as predicted, brought about early menopause. But I am still bleeding.
I've been on HRT for quite some years , around 9 I think, and it's a combined tablets which means I have a bleed.
I discussed with my gp trying the single hrt because I wasn't sure if I was bleeding because I should be, or if it was chemically induced from the medication. The gp shrugged her shoulders and said 'try it?'
Anyway I bled continuously on the hrt that would be classed as 'no bleed'.
I'm so fed up of bleeding. I'm back on the combined hrt and heavier than ever with it showing no signs of abating. I ache in my legs. I'm beyond tired, exhausted.
Is there another option? I don't want the coil.
My gp doesn't seem interested in helping - I want to know where I am in my menopause journey and if I will EVER stop bleeding!! 😩
I am really struggling.

Hi , any continuous bleeding needs investigation be it HRT related or not,
At the very least your GP should have sent you for an ultrasound scan to check your uterine lining and ovaries. Can you see another GP and ask for further investigation? You may need iron supplements as continuous bleeding can cause anemia, in your situation I would be wanting to be seen by gyne to find out what's going on.
I had a similar experience to you a few years ago and you won't want to hear it but the mirena coil was the only thing that worked for me!
