What difference does it make if workplaces have a menopause policy

I don't know if mine does and what does it do for the employee.

Not in my experience.
I mean, if you find life tough going, then it is just difficult.

My immediate Team are all lovely (and also there are quite a few of us of similar age range) so empathetic, but life goes on.
Since I've seen that our employer has produced a policy, I can't see anything in it that would have made a difference, no.

My organisation (NHS) is just in the process of developing one. We have a high number of female staff in the 40-60 age bracket. The policy will set out that adjustments should be made for women going through the menopause and struggling with symptoms and should make it easier for everyone to understand what support can be offered and how to go about accessing it.

I think it just helps in acknowledging this is a thing and it can cause debilitating symptoms. If then a manager is not acknowledging your situation you have come back to complain, and they are probably less likely to be like that in the first place if they know you could complain,
