Fainting - perimenopause?

I've just had what I can only describe as a blackout. I stood up from lying down and then suddenly couldn't hear or see anything and didn't know where I was.

It probably only lasted for a second. I remained standing (holding onto the wall) but was really confused when I came to. It took me a minute to remember where I was and my ears were ringing.
It was really scary

Does that sound like fainting? And is this a perimenopause symptom? I've never had anything like it before.

Hello! I've just had a very similar thing happen to me at work. How are you doing now? Everything went black for only a second or two, and I didn't faint. Was very emotional afterwards. Am wondering if it was low blood pressure perhaps. Hope you're OK!

Maybe get your ferritin and BP checked if it's making you anxious but I think it's just a case of standing up too quickly!
To swiftly go from lying or sitting to standing can make some people go lightheaded. Not sure if it'll be a hormone related thing but you never know.

That’s not a typical symptom of menopause.

Get yourself to the GP and get everything checked.

I've just googled and hormone inbalances can cause low BP, but so can thyroid imbalances and low blood sugar so always worth getting an MOT with the nurse.
But if all ok just go from lying to standing with brief sitting stage in between.
