What if you can’t have hrt?

Would love to hear from people who would like to take hrt but has been advised against it for health reasons. (I have a genetic clotting condition)
Is there anything out there for people like me or do I just have to struggle on.

First, is this your GP or a menopause gynaecologist who has advised?

The reason for asking is that some types of HRT do not affect clotting at all - for example, estrogen that comes as a gel or a patch.

The clotting risks are with tablet form.

If you have not seen a meno specialist, it might be helpful to do this.

If you have and they had said 'no' the website of the Women's Health Concern has a menu with options if you can't take HRT.

They are mainly herbal supplements which don't have a great record but do help some women.

You can also take low doses of drugs meant for high blood pressure than can reduce hot flushes.

Have you been told any of this?

Thanks @JinglingHellsBells, as soon as I posted this I found an article by Dr Louise Newson saying pretty much as you say above! My GP is the kind of doctor who will refer me - I have had much too much trouble (multiple PEs and DVTs) to do anything other than proceed very cautiously. I basically just want to stop feeling permanently washed out and useless.
