TMI question

beentoldcomputersaysno · 08/07/2021 20:35

I don't think I'm peri-menopausal, but am in my forties so could be. My last few periods have been shorter and very heavy on day 2/3 (tampons and maternity pads not lasting very long). The cycle has also shortened by a few days. It also coincides with 1st AZ vaccine and cycle since 2nd jab in the middle of it has just started a week late. It's probably just a vaccine side effect, but wanted to see if these changes start as suddenly as this if peri menopausal? Also, despite the heavy flow, I've found tampons uncomfortable as though I'm "dry" - have never had this issue before. Again, is this a vaccine thing or does it just start feeling like this suddenly when peri menopausal? Apologies if tmi.

I'd say it's nothing to do with the vaccine and everything to do with being perimenopaosal. More or less same symptoms with me over the past year, but given I'm 50, not surprising.

Op I could have written this.

I've always used tampons but the last six months or so I've really struggled and thrown more away after not being able to get them comfortable than ever.

Things definitely feel dryer in there so it can be abit painful a few days into my period.

I've also noticed my periods are erratic and cycle changes as well as pmt being for longer.

I've had night sweats and ovulation pains etc etc as well as the thickened waist and weight gain I'm trying hard to shift.

I KeeP putting it down to thyroid issues however I think I'm def peri.

If you have the finances I’d recommend a visit to an acupuncturist.

They have a good track record with sorting periods and hormones, helping people get heir bodies prepared for falling and keeping pregnant etc.

They are all a member of a single professional body. You can google to see if ones near you. Expect to pay £50 a session upwards.

I’ve no hot flushes now (after one treatment prior to which I had them at least once an hour day and night) and am sleeping better. I go monthly and it’s changed my life and is proven science not woo.
