Hi, I'm new to mumsnet & have joined because I've noticed lots of info on hrt and the menopause.
I'm a month in on 2 pumps of estrogel and was wondering if anybody can tell me why I'm getting a lot of bleeding? My periods stopped well over 1.5 years ago and this is heavier than just spotting. Do I need to stop HRT? I'm 43 and early menopause runs in my family. Only started hrt because my gp recommend it (I have ms, lupus and fibromyalgia so have a fair bit to deal with already) I didn't think i had any neg menopause symptoms until this gel kicked in and I began feeling soooo much better. But now bleeding on and off.
I'd be so grateful for any info?
Sorry for the very rambling 1st post Smile

What do you mean by a pump?

Are they not tablets

@Frostytiger87 my understanding is that perimenopause is the period of time when your hormones are changing and your body is gearing up to menopause.
Whereas the menopause is when you have not had a period for a year or more and you have completed the transition.
My experience has been that I pretty much stuck on a stone within a month then my periods stopped and I had a week of severe flushes and sweats but I think it's more likely that weight creeps on and it's for two reasons: 1. Reduced oestrogen and 2. General slowing of metabolism

Sorry...two squirts of the oestrogen gel then at night I take a utrogestan tablet

The oestrogen is in the form of gel. Or it can be patches. There is a risk of clot with oral oestrogen.

Hi, I was originally on utrogestan 100 mg but had terrible anxiety especially early hours of the morning. I was changed to cyclogest pessaries, which has helped but do get periods of anxiety /nervousness earlier hours and at times during the day for no apparent reason, which I struggle with. Also, recently I find myself very tired /fatigued, which I didn't initially. I've been on this for about 7mnths. Any advice that could help? Is this normal?
I am also on evorel 100mg patches twice a week. I think I'm better with the estrogen and keen to continue with it but have been told I have to have the progesterone too. On the whole the hot flushes are better, I sleep better, memory is better, energy levels fluctuate and enthusiasm / the feeling of being excited, looking forward to things varies, which is hard, I have yo push and make myself socialise.
