Is it possible to be having menopausal hot flushes at 53, after having early meno at 39?

I know it's been hot lately, but I've been experiencing frequent spontaneous hot flushes 2 or 3 times a day for the past couple of months.
I was peri menopausal at 39 then had a baby. I haven't had a period since.
I've been on HRT between the ages of 41 and 51.
Surely these hot flushes can't be meno?
I've tried googling, but don't really now what to put in the search?!

Yes, of course they can.

You've stopped using HRT which was preventing the flushes.

Were you told to stop? Because many women only start HRT at 51 or older.

You can start HRT again and carry on forever, if you have no high risk factors.

My Mum still had flushes in her 80s, 30 years after menopause.

Some women have them for life, my consultant told me.

Am having one now. The fourth this morning. Yesterday on and off all bloody day.

Nearly 15 years now.

Thanks for replying both.

I can't believe I didn't know I could still be getting symptoms. I'm a bit embarrassed I know so little about a subject that is so important. Blush

I wasn't told to stop hrt, no. I was just fed up of not being able get a prescription (pre-covid shortages) and then not being able to get a docs appt. so I gave up, figuring I was past the point where the hrt tabs were making up for what my body should ordinarily be doing.

God, I feel like a dimwit now! I also feel a bit angry that women's health, meno in particular, is not higher on the agenda. Put up and shut up.

Off to the docs for me then.

Thanks again.

I still have them at 60 after an early menopause. I have friends who still have them in their 70s.

I find the lowest dose of kliovance keeps them at bay.
