Hi, whenever I get my bp done at GP it is always high. I literally can feel my heart pounding the minute the cuff goes on and palms sweat.

I really want to make GP app to hopefully start HRT. Is it worth me buying an upper arm monitor to record it at home regularly to show to GP? Whenever I have had it done when have managed not to stress (in gym or at my mum’s or in hospital ) it’s fine
Thanks !

'6 may / likely to help prevent dementia'

There is lots of conflicting research re dementia so to state 'may/likely to help prevent dementia' is a bit disingenuous. You should just say 'may help'. www.alzheimers.org.uk/about-dementia/risk-factors-and-prevention/hormones-and-dementia#:~:text=There%20is%20some%20evidence%20that,any%20beneficial%20effects%20on%20cognition.

9 - 17% higher risk though it is acknowledged it is a small study.

More up to date and balanced information is needed.

Late to this thread but some GP practices will lend a home BP monitor if needed (mine did). Sorry too late for OP but might save someone else buying one!
