Effective alternatives to HRT and to be scared of oestrogen deprivation:post breast cancer treatment and scared about lack of oestrogen

Basically, just as my thread subject reads. What are the options if you can’t take HRT and have been thrown into a medical menopause years early.

There seems to be so little information on this. I just get told, oh try HRT and then sympathetic looks when I say I can’t. All the ‘natural therapies’ cost a fortune and it seems so unfair that women who find themselves in this situation have to pay for options themselves, whilst those who can take HRT get it on the NHS. Which I totally support, but there has to be something else.
I’ve also been told that there is a ‘long term’ impact of oestrogen deprivation. Given I’m going into the medical menopause at least a decade earlier than the average women, does that mean a bleak future too?

This is from the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, guidance for drs prescribing HRT.

Women who have had BC are allowed to use HRT.

www.chelwest.nhs.uk/professionals/gp-advice-and-troubleshooting-guide-for-hrt-in-primary-care

Past medical history

Breast Cancer or other hormonal cancer Natural bioidentical progesterone has a non-significant breast cancer risk with HRT

Medroxyprogesterone (MPA) may be associated with significant increased breast cancer risk Utrogestan, natural bioidentical progesterone is hormone of choice

There are many drs who would allow you to use HRT if it's the right sort.

Have you seen a menopause specialist or is this your GP refusing you?

The Nice guidelines say that any women whose had cancer should be referred to a Menopause clinic. Go to your GP. Quite the guidelines and get a referral. Once there the experts are very likely to find a HRT suitable for you.
I’ve had Oestrogen + cancer and was told 10 years ago I’d not be able to have HRT. More has been discovered about risks and I’m seeing a menopause specialist and am almost a year into HRT. It’s life changing.
My Trust does acupuncture too, although there is a LONG wait.
