what kind of problems?

Was just searching for this before I started a new thread and here you are! I'm fairly sure I'm peri and my gums have started bleeding this week for the first time in my life. Guessing it could be related? Not happy.

From what I can gather a trip to the dentist is due, but no idea if there's any chance of that soon in the circs.

@Kimlolly You can't be certain that issues with your teeth are linked to meno as it may just be that you are of an age when teeth and gum issues start to become a problem. Low intake of calcium and loss of collagen can affect gums and teeth but regular check ups and hygienist cleaning should help a lot.

@utican Are you NHS or private for your dentist? I go privately and my dentist has been open for appts right through lockdown and doing regular appts for a long time now. I have had 2 hygienist appt and 2 dental check ups in the past year.

I think I'm peri and my teeth have disintegrated in the last few months, I am NHS and have managed an appointment, dentist feels some need to come out, some he can fill but their backlog is so long I'll be waiting a while, which is ok ATM as he sorted the sharp edges.
I've always had good teeth and looked after them but I've noticed bleeding and then teeth breaking etc, could be wear and tear I suppose, the only other time I've had issues with my teeth was when I was pregnant, and got my first filling.

Thanks @JinglingHellsBells, I'm NHS and the practice switched to a 'don't call us, we'll call you' regular appointment allocation service a few years back. Needless to say in recent times they haven't been in touch at all and the whole family has been missing out for too long. Will have to chase them and see what's what.

You're right it could just be the age of the beast!

I never had any issues while pregnant etc only been last 18 months think as well check ups aren’t being done thorough like used to years ago in and out within 10 mins and now with COVID they only look at problem tooth not check rest so out within 5 but still paying price of a check up mentioned numerous times over last 3 years that going through menopause so she could be more aware of problems but don’t seem bothered got an appointment again in 25/6 to check on my wobbly wisdom tooth and mention again about my teeth issues and menopause and see what she says she will probably be fed up if me by end of my appointment with what I have researched online lol but need her to do what can to make sure I don’t lose anymore as I’m paranoid about them now
