Intense menopausal fatigue

I am peri-menopausal at 49, and am not a candidate for HRT. Been getting very tired in the early evenings ( my busiest time of day). Almost non-functional after 6 pm. I walk 10 k steps daily, do not drink, eat very healthy, am a healthy BMI. My only vice is 2 cups of coffee a day.

Any tips to solve this?

Have you had bloods checked at GP's? I'm same age, very tired. Turns out TSH levels high, so could be hypothyroid in my case, though I suspect a dose of perimenopause also.

Yes, I did get bloods checked abt a year ago just before the pandemic and everything normal. This tiredness feels new. Could also be pandemic fatigue. How does one even tell the difference? I am thinking of including some soy in my diet, though its not something I normally eat or like.

I get this. I go to bed about now ! Interested to hear if it's a peri symptom. It's like the energy has been syringed out of me post 7pm

I take vit B6, B complex, magnesium, vit D and Evening primrose oil which helps

Exactly the same here! I can't function after about 7pm every night..I just can't believe my life has changed so much and that I'll never be able to cope with staying up late ever again!! I have dreams of going out dancing.. sob!
Been prescribed HRT and really didn't want it but have no choice any more.
It's awful isn't it? Let's support each other here if you like

Hi, well I went back on to the HRT and am nearly 3 months into it. I'm not sure if it's working as I still wake up in the early hours and the aching I get is just as bad. The nurse said to give it at least 6 months to work. What has def helped though is pilates. I stopped it ages ago and lost my strength and muscle tone but i now do a weekly class and I couldn't function without it.

Get your iron checked.

There are many roads that lead to Rome meaning there are a number of reasons why you're getting so tired in the evening. Eg. Are you eating nutrition that balances hormones - meals that provide you with the right type of nutrition specific to menopause? Protein matters. When you eat matters too - How many meals do you eat every day? Are you getting deep, good quality sleep?

Get your iron checked.

Full bloods done. Iron fine. Testosterone through the floor so I'm back on that. They've also doubled my oestrogen dose but three weeks in and still have days where I seriously struggle to function.

I'm at a loss. I'm also over weight and desperate to exercise but the minute i do, the fatigue kicks in again. It's awful.

May I ask why you aren't a candidate for HRT? Many doctors give out wrong information.
