HRT and Digestive Problems - Acid Reflux, IBS etc

I've read studies that suggest reflux is more prevalent in HRT users. Can I just ask any HRT users of your experience with this? Did any reflux or IBS issues become worse, or indeed improve when using HRT? Were you using combined or oestrogen only? Thanks.

Thanks for replying! Does anyone else have any experience of HRT affecting their digestion in either a negative or positive way?

My IBS and reflux started around the time I began HRT, but I was also going through a difficult separation at the time so I put it down to that. Didn’t cross my mind it could be the HRT (which I still use). This has certainly given me something to think about!

Ibs was one of my first(of the many!) new symptoms when I entered the late reproductive/early perimenopause phase. It was especially bad before and during a period. My experience has been that HRT has eased it.

@OverWintered exactly the same for me. Mainly, acid reflux was atrocious.
HRT helps. I stopped taking Omazeprole.

I went on HRT because my main menopause symptom was indigestion. It was like being pregnant again. Weird as during pregnancy you have more oestrogen and you'd think it would be declining in menopause. But it was getting unbearable.

Anyway, I'm on Estradot 100mcg and indigestion has gone, as have the aching finger joints which I thought were encroaching old age and actually turned about to be another fun menopause symptom.
