After a few years of flooding / v v heavy periods last year I only had 4 and they were quite light.
I haven't had one for 4 or 5 months but last week had some very light spotting after bowel movement for a couple of days. Then nothing for a few days and now same thing again today.
Does anyone else recognise this ?
Thanks

I really think you should speak to your GP

ChubbyLittleManInACampervan · 14/04/2021 22:47

I am having the same

It is like the first day of my period for 3 days, then nothing for a week. Then again, then my actual period, 2 days nothing, then spotting

Was thinking if I need to see a GP or if this is normal (am 49)

I'm very similar age.
I've had so many odd things in last few years - it's difficult to know what's normal.
Had a smear recently and all ok.

Thanks @BadEyeBri
Is that for a specific reason or because of the general 'see gp with unusual bleeding'?

Without wanting to worry you I had unusual bleeding and am now 1/2 way through treatment for cervical cancer. Do get it checked. Most likely it is nothing but don't ignore it.

Sleepingdogs12 · 15/04/2021 07:51

If you are worried get it checked out. I had no periods ,then the odd slight bleed like the start of a period. Then a large gap again then bleeding again. I went to the GP who sent me for a scan and they found tiny fibroids which have now sorted themselves out as the GP predicted. No harm in getting checked out.

Thank you for the extra messages

@BadEyeBri I did have my latest shear about a month ago and nothing picked up but good reminder. I hope all goes well with your treatment Thanks

I would always contact my GP. This is the advice on unusual bleeding:

Thank you for the info @tilder
Perimenopause is such a confusing time healthwise. Difficult to know what is normal.
