Sugar/Carb addiction - peri related?!

I've just turned 42 and I've been peri since I turned 40 (periods becoming irregular, marked breast tenderness etc etc).

I've always had difficult controlling my addictions to chocolate/cake but for the most part on balance keep on top of it.

I now however have insatiable cravings. Once I eat anything like this I literally cannot stop until everything similar I have I. The house has gone.

Some of it I know is due to lockdown, boredom etc...but the cravings are just so strong now.

There is definitely a correlation with hormones and tiredness.

Could this be peri-related?! Or am I just the grotesque person with no self control that I am feeling like? Any recommendations to help...I'm sick of feeling disgusting.

I walk quite a lot and my meals are super healthy.

I am 44 and have had exactly this issue for the last couple of years.

It's got much worse since having an ovary removed a few months ago. There is definitely a hormonal connection. It's horrendous :(

I have found taking a magnesium supplement and also vitamin B6 really helps. I think, from what I have experienced, that it is peri related, something to do with blood sugar levels becoming unstable and needing to increase serotonin. Good luck, I hope that it eases.

Thank you, both.

I am like a demon possessed with sweet stuff at the moment. The cravings are so strong it's like they're physical Sad
