Support from men during menopause

Hello!

I am a graphic design student currently undertaking a project about menopause. Throughout my research, I have noticed that women want more support from their partner/ other men in their life. For my outcome I would like to design an outcome for men to understand and support their partner during this time.

My current idea is to create a simple brochure for men to know how to support their partners and include information on menopause itself. I wondered if any women on here had any thing they would love to be included in this? And if this concept was brought to life, would you want to purchase this for your partner, for them to grasp a greater understanding surrounding the issue?

Thank you in advance!

I'd personally like to see information given out in the workplace. To men and women. It's still a real taboo to talk about menopause and so many women struggle with symptoms that impact on their work.

Yes I agree..more info in the workplace is a great idea.

I would love to see a brochure or something published for men to understand more about what women go through. DH gets really angry with me as my mood swings are dreadful and I just wish he'd remember why it's happening and that it's not me deliberately being difficult. A list of symptoms would be useful and a section on how to handle things without going mad!!

Thank you and good luck with your project.

Hi @JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn & @BooseysMum. Thank you both for your replies. My aim is to create something both for men and workplaces. Is there anything in particular you would want your workplaces to know or understand. Or more of a general awareness? Thank you.

I think the emphasis needs to be everyone not just men. Women who haven't hit menopause yet have no concept of how it feels to go through menopause. The list of symptoms is long and varied for everyone. Insomnia, migraine and brain fog are just some of the symptoms that can have an impact on ability to work to capacity. Over heated stuffy office are bad enough at the best of times, throw in hot flushes and it's a recipe for disaster. Not sure what you'd want to say or how you'd say any of this to a bunch of men with zero interest or care about menopause though.
