Could this be peri menopause?

Hi I’m worried I’m not sure how long this has been going on for it’s possibly 6-9 months! I’m 39 this year and my periods have started getting longer plus they are heavy but not the entire period the last bit is light spotting for days afterwards! They are now averaging ten days long!! I’ve had internal pelvic exam and blood tests
The results were borderline for anemia low blood
And borderline low for thyroid
She said to repeat them in three months time!
I’m wondering if it could be menopause symptoms? (My mum was 40 when she had it if it’s similar in families)
But I’m also feeling worried in case it’s something more serious
I also feel really lethargic, tired ,depressed and anxious so just wondering if this happened to anyone here or what it could be?

Yep sounds familiar. Periods change. Things are different. I found it improved a lot when I start taking Menopace. I'm 46 and still semi regular.

Thanks for the comment
What is menopace?

Hi OP my experience was very similar to yours. When I turned 40 my periods were to heavy to be manageable.
My Dr. put me on the combined pill but with no break week inbetween. So one pack straight away followed by another. I was never aware this was ok and I have enjoyed years since with no periods!
Ask your doctor if this is something you would be suitable for.

Sounds like peri, but those are all symptoms I've had with an underactive thyroid, including heavy/irregular periods, so I would definitely keep a check on that and maybe ask for your blood results so you can check the ranges and look into it.

I was 40 ish (like my mum) periods just petered out, stopped at 43.

You need HRT to protect your bones and heart as it is likely to be an early menopause.

I wish I had known about HRT at the time as, although I was right as rain until 45, the nasty symptoms really kicked in then.

I agree with the periods. Ask for a blood test to confirm.
