Hello!
I started classic sudden perimenopausal symptoms in September 2019. The main problem was anxiety and restlessness attacks. The physical symptoms were no big deal in themselves.

I started oestrogen patches at the “50” dose and after three weeks that took the edge off and stopped night sweats but I still felt stressed
We upped the dose to “75” in July 2020 and that made me feel I was turning a corner.

Since then I have endured some bad life events but have been pretty resilient. but the anxiety is always lurking. Today I had two “mini-panics”.

I’m wondering about trying the 100 dose and would appreciate any thoughts.

I want to look at chat/ hypnotherapy for the panic but I think it makes sense to optimise the hormone first.

Thankyou

I'm sorry I can't help but I'm watching with interest. I'm 49 have had horrible hormonal anxiety in the last 3 years and am considering HRT. I hope someone will be along to answer your question.

No idea - I'm in the same boat with the patch at 75 dose, and wondering about 100. My ob/gyne wants me to try it for six weeks and then give her feedback. I'm only on day 5! Same issues continue: trouble sleeping, etc.

LMK if you decide to ask for increase and if it helps!

Stress can hugely exacerbate symptoms.
Maybe try to deal with whatever has happened in your life recently.
No one can predict if 100mcgs will be better. But as you are still in peri, it might be a good idea to try other things first- like yoga, mindfulness, exercise outside (if possible), and ways to look after your mind/ body.
HRT can be great but it often needs to work alongside a lot of stuff we can do to help ourselves.

thanks.

I had actually switched to a new type of patch a week ago and they need to go on a different part of the body. I hadn't realised this so for a week the dosage was probably messed up/overdosed (I kept repacling them).

I'm hoping that last night's unpleasantness was to do with that but it may because the life events I had thought of as over reappeared when my guard was down a week ago. As the perpetrator will be going on trial and my husband will have to give evidence, I don't think mindfulness is going to sort it!
