How "irregular" is irregular?

Just that really. How irregular is irregular before medics and think there is something wrong? Does it depend on other symptoms and age etc?

Not sure whether to contact my GP given how stretched they are Smile

If you are 45+ ( assume you are approaching menopause if you have posted here :)) then irregular periods are not a medical condition that needs to be discussed with a dr.

If you are younger and they are wildly irregular, then yes, see a dr because it can be a sign of something else.

In peri menopause, cycles can be very irregular (that means more than 7 days out either side) and as far apart as months and months, or short cycles of 17 days.

@JinglingHellsBells I'm 34. My mother went through menopause before 40 which is why I'm thinking about talking to the doctor just incase.

I've completed my family so at least that's one less thing to worry about.

I've got about 27 days between my longest and shortest cycle before this cycle which is currently at day 48.

100% not pregnant.

Ah okay.

See your dr because if it's early menopause you might need HRT before too long.
