@Don21. My understanding is that ovestin can be used internally and externally. I think it’s one inch per application. My doctor said to make sure it’s well rubbed in externally, like rubbing in moisturiser.

I’m not sure about abstaining from sex but I imagine absorption may be reduced. Perhaps ask your Gp for vagifem for internal and use ovestin externally?

Also what you’re finding in your underwear may be the filler or carrier cream and the oestrogen part has been absorbed?

Hi I’m currently using ovestin but I insert it, can I use externally too? The questions I need help with, I use the cream twice weekly, so I am supposed to abstain from sex on those days? Also the next day I find cream in my underwear , is it supposed to do that or absorb in during the night?

You can still have sex but from a practical point of view, most of it will come out with the friction. You can apply it afterwards.

Yes, there is always some run-off with it coming out the next day.

Thankyou so much, that’s a big help

I have this & take an antihistamine & went to the Dr ( after first going to the Gum clinic) The Dr gave me HC45 cream, like E45. Apparently mine was eczema caused by everything thinning down there & getting extra sensitive. It has worked for me thank goodness. I had tried Vagifem, Sudacreme etc, but nothing helped until I had this cream. I felt relief in a couple of days.
I really feel for you, the itching is the most horrendous thing, especially at night & then there's the soreness!!! Ahhhhhh!
