Can I tweak the dose?

I’m using evorel sequi and the first two weeks are fine, but when I start the second type of patch I become low, moody, snipey and picky with husband and daughters. I get upsetting dreams. I’m so tired too.
Can I tweak the dose by cutting up another patch and adding?
I’ve read that some people do this, but I’m not sure if I should, or if it will help.
Anyone?
TIA 💐

@Twospaniels Just a couple of thoughts...

Do you realise that it's the progesterone in the 2nd half of the cycle that's causing those side effects? It's Norethisterone.

There are many types of HRT and one option you have is to ditch Evorel altogether and use another type - possibly estrogen patch/ gel + Utrogestan, or Femoston, or have the Mirena coil (maybe the progesterone in them would suit you better.)

Adding more estrogen in the 2nd half of the cycle MAY help - but might not.

What is important is keeping the balance between estrogen/ progesterone so the womb lining is protected.

In theory it should be safe - because women using gel can use anything from 1.5mgs to 3mgs a day and still use the same dose of Utrogestan.

But- query- would you have to explain to your dr why you needed to have another prescription sooner each month?

I found that artificial progesterone doesn’t agree with me. Not sure what yours is. But night be worth asking for Utrogestan as already suggested. My life changed beyond all recognition when I made that switch in terms of the hormonal mood swings etc. I recommend discussing with your GP.

Thanks @JinglingHellsBells
I am definitely going to see my GP again and hope to be able to get a referral to a menopause clinic. I think there is one in my area.

You don't really need a referral- this is quite standard stuff, swapping on type of hrt for another. Many many women feel grotty on the progesterone part of hrt, but it can be minimised by trying other types.
