BRILLIANT YOUTUBE 'MUST WATCH' VIDEO ON MENO/ HRT ETC WITH EXPERT

Must- watch video which came out a few days ago.

I won't link but someone else may want to (I came across it on Twitter )
"Talking all things menopause with leading expert Nick Panay"

It's featuring Mr Nick Panay (leading UK meno expert) and he's talking to Diane Danzebrink. (He was previous chair of the BMS and is one of a handful of excellent meno experts in the UK incl mine! )

If you search for those names on Youtube, the date August, it's findable.

This is a ONE HOUR conversation with everything you need to know about meno, HRT, research, Ovestin, Vagifem, the lot.

If you are having issues getting help from your GP, watching this may give you some ammunition. Panay says that for every 1 woman he sees he knows there are 100 out there not getting the right treatment. A sad situation for many women.

@JinglingHellsBells thank you. Brilliant!

I also saw on the BBC website they are making talking about menopause part of the curriculum in schools.

Glad it's helped.

Since I posted about it, almost EVERY new thread here could be helped by watching it and finding out about meno/HRT and what GPs ought to be doing.

I attend his clinic. Thank goodness there are doctors like him who practise reproductive medicine and understand women’s needs.

Thank you @JinglingHellsBells for bringing this to our attention - there’s so much useful information, it should be mandatory viewing for GPs.

I was particularly interested in Nick Panay's comments regarding the symptom overlap between menopause and thyroid deficiency. I spent so much time during my early-mid 50s being utterly exhausted and I can see from my old blood test results that I have been borderline hypothyroid for a long time - but since I was just within the normal range, it was never picked up. I eventually became hyperthyroid for a few months and was treated but now I'm back to being borderline hypo which the NHS isn’t interested in treating. I’m currently trying to find a private endocrinologist who can help me.

Thanks for this video, I'll watch it today. The more I begin to understand the menopause (and I am only at the beginning of my journey), the more angry I get that women are not always supported or understood by their GPs.
