WWYD - ?peri at 39?

I've just turned 39 and I don't know what to do.

I've got a 5yo mirena coil (which I can't get removed or replaced at the moment) and got on well with it for first few years. I've never had a period since having it.

About 2 years ago I started to go through phases where I didn't feel right. Bloating easily, difficulty with weight, feeling very flat/ loss of confidence, the odd hot flush, inability to sleep past 5 am, regular UTIs, and, worst of all, sex drive through the floor + dryness. The symptoms would lift after a few months and I'd feel more normal.

I also go through spells, lasting months at a time, when I get lots of migraines, then I'll have spells with none. I saw my GP about the migraines last year and he tested (for meno) and said tests all normal and I was very young to be menopausal (no family history).

I've not had a migraine for nearly a year and nor have I felt like myself, my sex drive is non-existent and is getting me down. Even in the absence of covid I'm reluctant to go back to my GP - he sounded very definite that my blood tests were normal. I've since heard that the exact time in the cycle (assuming a cycle) is important in hormone testing but not having periods I've no idea if I am cycling, or where I am in cycle.

I don't want to stop my mirena but I'm considering having it removed just so I'd see if I was having periods or not.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? Does anyone have any advice about getting to the bottom of this?

Don't know if I I can bé múch help but I got the "my calendar" app on my phone to help me track my periods. Also used an ovulation kit for 2 months to track when my fertile time was. Just this week diagnosed as perimenopausal. I'm 38 and completely gutted about it. Not unusual in my family apparently. But I started getting my periods at 11 so as my Dr said, early start early finish

Early start early finish is a myth. It depends on your egg reserve and not your age.

Posted too soon- the early start doesn't add up- literally- because the average age of meno is 51. So, starting at 11 compared to the average of 12 yrs and a bit would make no difference at all, or only by a year.
