Is sequential HRT cycle 28 or 30 days?

I started sequential HRT this cycle- 2 pumps oestrogel daily and 200mg Utrogestan cycle days 15-26. The clinical pharmacist at my GP surgery told me to start both straight away as I was on cycle day 17. I forgot to ask when to start counting the next cycle day 1 so that I know when to start the progesterone again. I'm now on day 29 but no bleed and can't find an answer on the information leaflets that come with the meds. Any advice appreciated 😊

Sequential tablets are 28 days if that helps? 16 x estrogen and 12 progesterone.

Thanks @CornflakeMum I wonder if the gel is the same. Hopefully someone who uses it will come along 🤞

It's not as complicated as that @RR369.

I've used that combo for years.

The best way (as advised by my consultant) is to choose a date each month which is the date you start Utrogestan.

Some women choose the 1st of the month, others the 15th/ 16th.

It really doesn't matter which and it makes no difference whether it's 28 days, 30 days or even 32 days.

If won't matter if you choose a starting date now for Utrogestan that is slightly longer than 4 weeks, or even sooner.

I have an extended estrogen-only cycle monitored by my consultant and the cycle can be anywhere from 6 to 8 weeks in total.

I'm not suggesting you do that, but just explaining that the odd day here or there makes no difference at all.

Also, you may not bleed in your first month - depends how much of your lining is there to come away. The bleeds usually start 3-4 days after the last Utrogestan capsule.

Don't think this is Day 1 of a cycle, like a normal fertile cycle. It's not.

If, for example, you started your Utrogestan on 17 July, start the next ones on 17 August.

Thanks so much @JinglingHellsBells that's really helpful and much appreciated 😊
