Regular nausea/morning sickness in menopause

So surgical menopause, HRT, and now morning sickness

Been on continuous patches since Jan 19 had 5-6 weeks on gel/tablet but that really didn't agree with me so been back on patches for 2 weeks

So I'm assuming it's some sort of hormone imbalance but what?

Bump?

Hi! What brand of patches are you on? Gel and patches have different absorption rates so you could be right regarding imbalance.

I was on evorel Conti for over a year but I went on to estrogen and utragestan for about 6 weeks

Back on conti now and so much better - still traces of nausea but not anything significant thank goodness

That's great! Long may it continue Flowers

Yep I had that for the first two months of hrt - along with a severely heightened sense of smell which was a grim experience - I could even smell other people's breath when they walked past me. 8 months in now and that is all forgotten!

That is typical of migraines caused by oestrogen fluctuations. I have migraines since I was a toddler. Only visual aural though. In puberty they became full attacks. Had them intermittently during my fertile days and perimenopause. Much better now in menopause.Still can sniff like a dog.

Just remembered that Evorel now has a different manufacturer! Maybe there are slight but important differences in the fillers? Raw materials from different sources? Just a thought.

Maybe the glue is different too

OP posts:
Azaleah · 19/07/2020 23:39

Yes but the glue is an inert material, it could cause allergy but not nausea, I think.

KatyMac · 19/07/2020 23:45

Oh no of course not - I was just pointing out it is different (I reacted to it - it's ok now tho')

Going through menopause and quite often have nausea like morning sickness just presumed it must be a symptom. Sorry not much advice to give on it though!
