DIM supplementation

JeanMichelBisquiat · 28/06/2020 21:46

I was taking a DIM supplement cakes Estrohalt, which helped massively with the PMT and constant bloating that had crit up on me during perimenopause (I've had scans, nowt wrong internally).

However, it looks as though DIM supplements have been banned in the EU as a novel food, so I'm guessing it'll be a while until they're back on the market.

I can see it may be possible, if expensive, to order in from the States - has anyone had any joy with that route?

(By the way, novel food doesn't mean they're thought to be dangerous - just that more proof is needed. They appear to be fine for the FDA in the States.)

Grateful for any tips!

Not sure what you mean by this.

If you want to import anything from the US, you pay import duty which pushes up the price.

You can't avoid that if you want to carry on with the product.

I'd never heard of it - but having had a look, it's the equivalent to 2lbs of cruciferous veg a day.

Have you tried ( the obvious!) of eating more of that food ?

You know what - I'm not really sure what I was asking Blush. Bit tired at the mo.

I guess, is anyone else having to do the same/were there any particular suppliers that people had found to be reliable. I'm also not sure whether products banned for sale in the EU might be confisctated on import.

I don't think I'd need to pay import duty under £135, IIRC, but aware I'd need to pay VAT on top.

Re cruciferous veg, yes, I know, but a kilo plus of cruciferous veg is quite a lot to get through every day Grin. It may, however, be worth a try I guess.

Having thought about it, this is basically me asking opinions on a "quintessence of broccoli" smuggling heist.
