Utrogestan and Estrogel

My second mirena has reached its use by date. I take Estrogel twice a day and just been prescribed Utrogestan. I’ve not had a period since last September and I’m 54. I’ve been taking Utrogestan for about 3 weeks now. Not sure if it’s these making me feel foggy headed and sluggish but my boobs feel vile. Not sure whether this will settle down? Any advice or similar experiences??

Are you taking it at night? I changed to taking it in the morning for a few days at one point and was unbelievably dizzy- I couldn’t drive or walk in a straight line. Was only after the three days when I linked it that I realised (and understood why it said take at night on the label!)

Are you using Utrogestan daily or on a cycle for 12 days per month?

It is KNOWN to have a sedative effect (hence instructions to take at bedtime) but that feeling can last all the time if you are taking it continuously.

I didn't get on with that regime at all and have used it on a cycle for years. It does mean a bleed , like a period, but it's pros and cons!

Sorry I see you are taking it daily.

In some ways that's not 100% right because you are not 12 months without a period to use continuous HRT BUT some drs also work on the idea of 12 months with no period OR over 54.

You don't have to use it daily- you can do sequentially if that suits you better.
