Replens

Hello all

I have been suffering from soreness and dryness in my labia and 'inside' and started using replens just before lockdown.

On my second tube and the benefits seem to have subsided, 'inside' starting to feel dry and sore again.

No other symptoms so not thrush or UTI, I am wondering if another vaginal moisturiser might be an option or whether need to speak to GP.

When I mentioned it before she suggested using an aqueous cream 🤷‍♀️

I thought I would ask others experiences!

Over the counter products like that are a bit of a waste of time, being honest. The might provide some moisture but they don't reverse the changes due to loss of estrogen.

I can see why they are available (very much because some women are embarrassed at seeing a dr about this) and for women who simply cannot use any hormonal treatment ( ie cancer perhaps) but for most women the correct treatment is a vaginal cream (Ovestin) or a tiny pessary/pill which is used to restore the pH and lining of the vagina.

Your dr should offer this- if not, see another one.

Thanks jinglinghellsbells this was my concern!

I will contact GP again and see what they say been fobbed off tbh and tried to self treat with 'lockdown' happening. It has helped for a bit but feeling like it did at the beginning now. Sad

Hi there @chickedeee
will PM you.

Just a point to think about - if this is something that needs looking at, you may have to wait for a face to face appt. I think most drs would want to examine you not just prescribe over the phone or video (!) but of course you could try.
