My Dr suggested that I take VIt D daily how ever I’ve read that it should be taken with K2 otherwise it calcifies around the heart would anyone know if this is correct?

Vitamin D3 ensures that calcium is absorbed easily and K2 (MK-7) activates the protein, osteocalcin, which integrates calcium into bone. Without D3 and K2, calcium cannot do its job effectively. Vitamin K2 (MK-7) activates matrix GLA protein (MGP) to bind excess calcium and promote arterial flow and flexibility

‘Promotes arterial flow’. Wow, interesting, I’ve been on prescription Desunin 800 IU tablets for 3 years & I can’t see any mention of k2 in it. I will have to get some.

@Applejack87 I doubt that is correct. The whole UK population is advised to take Vit D between October and April, and the elderly who are housebound all year round, so if your question was right, it would be government advice.

Loads and loads of supplements have Vit D in them (I use Osteocare which is calcium, magnesium and Vit D) as I don't eat much dairy) and there is no mention of Vit K.

I would assume that Vit K is something we all have and get in our diet anyway in tiny amounts, but really, if it was that much of a concern, it would be in all Vit D supplements anyway.
